Advantages of water-jet cutting over other cutting methods:
- Almost no mechanical, heat induced or chemical influence on the work piece
- No transverse loads are caused. This means that work pieces can be finely processed.
- Almost all types of material can be cut
- Good quality of cutting surface
- Bridges and separating parts of less than 1mm can be manufactured without difficulty from stiff materials
- Complicated contours can be cut
- Low loss of material
- No need for holes to be pre-bored (except in the case of sandwich/stacked/laminated materials
Abrasive water jet cutting is an excellent alternative to flame cutting and plasma cutting, as well as wire EDM in some cases. If the tolerance is +/- .005" or greater our water jet cutting equipment can work for you. Lower overall costs of water jet cutting are achieved by faster production rates and optimal part positioning and nesting to reduce material waste and part handling.
Our water jet cutting equipment offers a capacity of up to 55" x 100" in cutting area, up to 8" in thickness, and up to 4,000 pounds in weight. The water jet cutting equipment is also able to cut through many different types of stainless steel material.
No distortion and no stresses are imparted to the material while producing a superior edge quality with minimal burr. Abrasive water jet cutting uses no heat so the molecular structure of the material remains unaltered. This makes water jet cutting the optimal process for rough machining. We can provide rough machining to your part leaving stock for your finish machining processes. With no heat affected zones, that means less wear on your cutting tools.
